Twas the Twinkling Twilight

Charles' family always does a little program on Christmas Eve every year and since I can't sing or play an instrument I had to think of something good to do.  I love tongue twisters and so I decided to write a Christmas tongue twister spin off of Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Twas the Twinkling Twilight
by Annette Martin
Twas the twinkling twilight, Christmas coming close.
The house, mouse, and spouse did not rouse.
Stockings stuck side by side
Soon to be softly stuffed by Santa.
Babies bundled in blankets in their beds,
Candy canes and Christmas cookies color children’s cortex.
Parents praying for peace past five,
Settling our sore spines sleepily for slumber.
Clamor clattered carelessly!
Jumping to judge the jostling,
Waking I whizzed to the white wind washed window
When what winters wonders would wonderfully show.
Smooth sleigh sailing with seven swift subarctic species,
Santa chauffeur, so spirited and spunky.
Question confirmed I caught Kris Kringle.
St. Nick knowingly named them:
Now Nolen! Now Norman! Now Newman and Nelson!
On Octavian! On Ollie and Oliver!
Race over the wreathes!  Rush to the roof!
Run Reindeer! Rush Reindeer! Race Reindeer!
The thatch thumped and thudded,
Prancing and pawing padding the powder.
Tilting, turning, thinking I thought “That was WEIRD!”
Nick’s thick sack whacked the smokestack.
Flowing fur from frontalis to phalanges,
Ashen ascot and soot soaked suit.
Beautiful, brilliant bifocals above a broad, beaming beard,
Laughing he lovingly unloaded the loot.
He hurried to the hearth to heed the hopes of hearts
Santa slid into his silver sleigh and soon slid from sight.
Festooned he flew, festinating:
“Cheery Christmas!  Cheery Christmas to Charles and Charlie!”

I am Pretty Sure I Have the Cutest Kid Ever! (I may be a little biased though)

Here is Charlie as cute as ever :)

Ticklish?

Charlie is absolutely one of the most ticklish people I have ever known.  Maybe it is just because he is still a baby and will out grow some of it, but I have never seen anyone so ticklish in so many areas.  Stomach, back, collar bone area, armpits, hiney, thighs, knees, and feet.

This picture has nothing to do with the above comment but thought that it is cute how he like to chew on his lower lip.

Life!

I feel so at home living in a rural town.  Our church buildings neighbors are cows!  I love it!

Charlie is getting so big.  For a while now he has been able to sit up with very little assistance but now he can sit up all by himself with no help until he decides that he wants to rock back and forth.

Its Charlie's first Christmas and he absolutely loves the Christmas tree.

Charlie Being Adorable

You don't have to watch each video in its entirety, the last two are kind of long.  I know that I don't mind watching them over and over, but isn't that what Mommy's are for.

Here Charlie is rolling from front to back.  He has been able to roll both ways for a while but doesn't really care to do it all of the time.

Charlie is bouncing back and forth here.  He always loves to move and bounce about all the time!

Charlie is "reading" his fabric book.  He loves to shake it about.

New Home

Charles and I built a house in Grantsville and here it is all done.  The papers were all signed last night!  Here are a few quick photos that I took the other day:

Charlie's Laughs

Charlie is a very good laugher.

Charlie's Cuteness

Charlie is a very cute nurser.  He will rub his hand on his head or hold the back of his head.

Charlie will often sleep perpendicular in his crib and sticks his feet out.

While at Tom and Jan's doing laundry Charlie dirtied his very last pair of pants.  So while waiting for the laundry to be done he got to go pantless.

Charlie loves the fabric books that he got from Grandma Wright.  So many things to touch and pull.

Charlie can't stand up in his crib by himself but he thinks that it is hilarious when we help him stand on his bed.

Halloween

Halloween was oh so fun.

Charlie was a Dalmatian puppy

I was Cruella Deville

And Charles was a hockey player for work, but at another Halloween party we went to he was Roger (from 101 Dalmatians)

I don't think that I posted our Halloween pictures from last year.  We were a Mac and a PC :)

Charlie, Charlie, and More Charlie

We are obviously the parents of one child with the amount of photos that we take of him.  So here are only a few of those photos.

Charlie and Mommy having a great time

Charlie dressed up for the BYU football game

Charlie as a Dalmatian puppy for Halloween

Charlie sleeping (just in case you couldn't tell)

Yea for Charlie!!!!

Is It Time For Solids Yet?

Charles trying to feed Charlie his first solids.  Just kidding, nothing but good ole fashion milk for this little guy for a while.  But this is one of our many carrots from our garden this year.

Here is a pumpkin that we grew.  It sure is a giant :)

We have more than enough green onions.

Here is my weak attempt at making an orange into a jack-o-lantern.

For kicks and giggles here are some photos of Charlie.  I know that the Grandparents can't ever get enough of these pictures.

This is Charlie all bundled up to go to a corn maze.  You may notice that the bear suit is a little big for him.

Here is Charlie is his chillin' pose.  He will often sleep like this now.  (I love how he has spit down the front of his shirt and a bit of barf on his sleeve in this picture.  We are exposing the dirty little secret that I don't always change him out of his clothes if he gets them dirty.  Kids and dirt just go together, there is no separation of them.  That is why they have to get dirty right after a bath, at least that is the only time Charlie has blow out diapers.  So the key to not having blow out diapers is not taking baths.  Simple!)

I caught Charlie chewing on his oxygen instead of napping.  Thankfully we have been able to take away his distracting toys.  No more oxygen!

I took this photo to document how Charlie chews on his fingers but it turned out so funny!  This picture reminds me of the kid on Home Alone.
